Amicus Mansa-X

Mansa-X is an investment product offered by Standard Investment Bank which falls under the category of special funds. The fund invests your money in Stocks, Currencies (Forex), Commodities, Bonds and Fixed-income instruments.

This is a high-risk instrument with potential high returns with the past 9 years having registered up to 20% annual returns which is significantly higher than most conservative investments in Kenya. The On-boarding requirement is however steep for most potential investors coming together under the banner Friends4Impact.

Friends4Impact are Groups of Friends coming together to contribute towards the out-of-pocket medical financial needs of high risk patients like emergency transport, SHA financing e.t.c. Amicus Mansa-X enables friends for Impact invest their little amount with a potential of earning greater returns hence by-passing this steep requirements by Mansa-X

The Mansa-X Special Fund Requirements:

• 250,000 Shillings Minimum Opening Balance

• Not less than 100,000 Shillings Top-up

250,000 Shillings Opening Balance
This is a very steep requirement that locks out majority of Friends4Impact who would like to invest amounts below 250k.  

Minimum Top-up of 100,000 Shillings
This is another steep requirement that limits Friends4Impact members towards continuously investing and growing their returns.

Our Strategy
The strategy we have implemented through an automated WhatsApp driven chatbot is to consolidate amounts raised by various groups at the beginning of each month and submit these amounts collectively. The returns will cascade down to individual members proportionate to their individual contributions less fund fees, platform fees and care contribution (10% of the returns).

Example
Five groups constituting 5 members per group where each member is contributing 4000 shillings will immediately raise the required 100,000 shillings top-up amount and if each member was to receive the returns at the end of the Amicus lock-in period, assuming a rate of 15%, Mansa-X management fee of 5%, platform Fee of 1.2% and Care Allocation of 10%, the individuals financial statement will be as below:

• Individual Returns - 600 Shillings

• Mansa-X Management Fee - 30 Shillings

• Amicus Platform Fee - 7.2 Shillings

• Care Allocation (Amount that goes to Healthcare) - 60 Shillings

The individual will get 502.8 Shillings with an impact report of how the 60 Shillings Care Allocation was spent. The individual can then re-invest the 500 shillings driving more investments and more impact in healthcare.
