Amicus Gaina classifies expectant women into Low Risk, Medium Risk and High Risk to enhance quality care!
Maternal Mortality in Kenya is more than Seven Times the recommended UN Sustainable Development Goal #3 of 70 for every 100,000 live births. 92.4% of maternal deaths are as a result of poor quality care and 88.1% of these are avoidable. Knowing the risk level of each expectant mother in advance increases the preparedness of Obstetricians and Health Facilities in safely handling any expectant mother.
How it works
Registration
Any expectant mother from any part of the country sends the word Tuhai to the official WhatsApp or SMS number registered to either the obstetrician or health facility anywhere in the country. For example, an expectant mother in a village in Kakamega can send the word Tuhai to a hospital like Nairobi Womens Hospital in Nairobi or to an Obstetrician in Nairobi
Daily Checkups
The Obstetrician or health facility, upon receiving the registration would then create a scheduled checkup plan suitable to the expectant mother considering several factors including her current trimester. Using this checkup plan, their Amicus Chatbot would send personalized questions to her depending on the scheduled plan and collect the answers.
Classification Report
Amicus Chatbot receives the answer and builds a classification report which would adjust depending on the answers received in a progressive manner monitoring the risk level of the expectant mother during the entire pregnancy period. The classification report would show the risk level of the expectant woman which could be low risk, medium risk or high risk.
Alerts Dashboard
Each Doctor and Health Facility will be able to view this classification report in real-time picking out early in advance any expectant mother with a high risk level. The alerts dashboard will have those who registered with them as well as those closest. The dashboard is also accessible to emergency service providers like ambulance providers for intervention
